The 2024 Toyota Prius lays claim to a title that no Prius has ever held: sexy. With a radical rethink of the exterior, the new Prius sheds its boring skin in favour of a flowing aesthetic more akin to something you’d find on a Lexus model. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with the hybrid drive now provides the power, providing 220 horsepower in the Prime model, which utilizes a plug to allow for up to 72 KM of all-electric range.
The top three stand out categories for the 2024 Toyota Prius Prime as voted on my CCOTY jurors are:
- Exterior styling
- Noise/Vibration/Harshness
- Fuel Economy
Juror’s Opinion: Evan Williams had this to say at Wheels.ca:
“Prius Prime sips fuel, has excellent ergonomics and build quality. It’s even good to look at. The biggest problem for anyone looking to buy one is probably going to be
finding one. Toyota has spent the last two years unable to meet demand for its vehicles even as plants are running all-out to try and keep up.
The 2023 Toyota Prius Prime is going to be the next hot ticket, and that could mean long lines. If you’re already a Toyota customer, though, you probably won’t mind the wait. Your current kitchen is working perfectly, you’re just ready for one that’s newer and more efficient.”
