AJAC’s reigning Best EV in Canada returns to the shortlist for 2024. It’s little wonder: along with success both critical and commercial, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 provides retro-futurist style, a smooth all-electric drive, and a spacious, thoughtful cabin.

The three Ioniq 5 attributes that stood out the most to CCOTY jurors are:
- Exterior Styling
- Driver
- Safety
Juror’s Opinion: Stephanie Wallcraft had this to say for Driving.ca:
“On the driving side, because the Squaredrop only weighs 970 pounds dry, we never needed trailer brakes. The Ioniq 5 had no issues managing its weight, even on long mountain descents where it showed zero hint of brake fade. (…) In fact, it went better than fine. Over 3,000 kilometres of driving, I’d say 95% of the trip went exactly to plan, and the remaining 5% fell to the backup plan with zero significant issues.”

Juror’s Opinion: Kyle Patrick had this to say for AutoGuide.com:
“The Ioniq 5 remains a super-impressive all-electric family car, one with a standout design, plenty of useful features, and relatively approachable price tag. No wonder wait lists are still lengthy.”
