Kia pulled off an automotive first in the 2024 EV9: the first three-row, all-electric SUV from a non-luxury brand. The EV9 is more than just an industry milestone, however: this boxy SUV brings new tech and convenience features to this hotly competitive segment. A large 99.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack affords the EV9 over 480 kilometres of range.
The three attributes CCOTY jurors scored the EV9 highest on include:
- Cargo Capability
- Interior Styling
- Noise/Vibration/Harshness
Juror’s Opinion: Andrew McCredie summed up his second drive of the EV9 like so:
“Looking back at my final thoughts from that South Korean first drive of the 2024 Kia EV9 I wrote, “This is a very solid and family friendly all-electric vehicle, with first-rate charging capability, state-of-the-art onboard technology and surprisingly nimble handling characteristics.” This second time around hasn’t changed that impression, and after experiencing the benefits of the Terrain Mode and getting real-world efficiency numbers for this all-electric SUV, the Kia EV9 is my front-runner for the 2024 vehicle of the year.”
